Question Settings
Bunja automatically asks you sets of questions suitable for your ability. However, the main menu allows you to change various settings. For example, you can:
- Set the toy to ask questions on a specific topic only
- Set the toy to ask questions from a specific difficulty
- Set size and type of question sets
Remember:
- At any time, press the i button to access the Main Menu.
- Bunja will remember the settings and results for up to 10 different players!
Fixed Topic Menu
There's a hidden shortcut to the Fixed Topic Menu! Instead of just pressing the i button, hold it down. This gives you a menu where you can input a new topic number or listen to reports on the current fixed topic.
Bunja asks questions from a variety of suitable topics automatically. It learns about you and asks harder or easier questions depending on how well you are doing.
However, you might want to work on a particular topic only, such as a particular Times Table. To do this, follow these steps:
- View the topic list on the website and find the topic you want to set.
- Make a note of the topic number.
- On the toy, press the i button to go to the Main menu.
- Go to Settings > Maths Settings > Question Types, then choose "Questions on a fixed topic".
- Follow the audio instructions to input the topic number from the website.
- Bunja will now ask questions from this topic only.
Fixed Difficulty Menu
Bunja adjusts the difficulty of the questions automatically depending on how well you are doing. If you do well, the questions get harder. If you don't, they get easier.
However, you can change this setting so that it only asks questions from a particular difficulty. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the toy, press the i button to go to the Main menu.
- Go to Settings > Maths Settings > Question Types, then choose "Questions at a fixed difficulty".
- Follow the audio instructions to desired difficulty rating.
- Bunja will now ask questions from this difficulty rating only.
The topic list on the website shows the difficulty rating for each topic. Filter the list to see what sort of questions will be asked for a given difficulty rating.
Question Sets Menu
You can set Bunja to end a question set after:
- a number of correct answers have been given, or
- a number of questions have been asked.
In either case, you can also use the main menu to change the number of required correct answers or questions in a set.
To change these settings, follow these steps:
- On the toy, press the i button to go to the Main menu.
- Go to Settings > Maths Settings > Question Sets.
- Follow the audio instructions to desired question type.
- Follow the audio intructions to change the number of questions (or correct answers required) in a set.
- Bunja will now ask questions sets of this new type and number.
